The Rainbow Project
2008

A grant to further The Rainbow Project's (TRP) aim of ensuring appropriate and adequate information, programs, and policies regarding HIV/AIDS prevention for men who have sex with men (MSM) in Namibia. TRP conducted a research study in 2008 documenting increased vulnerability of MSM to human rights violations and HIV infection. TRP will advocate for an increase in the level of resources devoted to promoting the health of the Namibian MSM population by documenting and publishing the research findings as well as organizing feedback sessions with government representatives, civil society organizations, AIDS service organizations and study participants. TRP will also implement a strategic planning process to establish evidence-based models that will serve as health interventions for the MSM population. This grant was funded in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa.
