Action pour la Lutte Contre l'Ignorance du SIDA
2008

A grant to support the "Break the Silence, the Balance is Deceiving" advocacy campaign which aims to bring attention to the sexual violence committed against sex workers and their lack of voice to address these violations. The campaign will increase awareness of the vulnerable situation of sex workers in the South Kivu Province through the use of print materials, media outlets, and public events to educate the local police, military officials, human rights NGOs, and the general public on the human rights violations committed against sex workers. Additionally, the campaign aims to aid sex workers in recognizing their own rights and giving them a voice within the larger society.
