The following SHARP compilation of resources and web links on LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS, and the law was shared by advocates in response to a request for information by a colleague seeking data that shows the positive correlation between anti-discrimination laws and successful HIV-prevention outcomes, or conversely, illustrates the negative impact on HIV prevention when such laws are not in place.

ACCEPT’s report “Implications for HIV/AIDS of Laws Affecting Men Who Have Sex with Men in Romania” was originally commissioned by UNAIDS and presented at the World Association of  Medical Law Congress, Hungary. It discusses the vulnerability to HIV infection and AIDS that MSM face in Romania due to discrimination and laws which prohibit homosexual acts. Download pdf.
