The following is one of three papers prepared for "Rising Through the Challenge: Institutional Strengthening and Best Practices in LGBT Organizations Working in the Global South," a presentation given at the International Conference on LGBT Human Rights in Montreal, Canada (July 2006) and the International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada (August 2006).
The paper was produced by the Blue Diamond Society. In Nepal, Blue Diamond Society reaches out to LGBT persons through community events and drop-in centers, which provide services including health promotion, counseling, and documentation of human rights abuses.
The panel was supported by the Open Society Institute, ARC International, and Foreign Affairs Canada.
