Roma Health Project Grantee Radio Cerenja Wins Second Prize at UN Journalism Awards
October 24, 2007

On the occasion of United Nations Day, the UN Jury announced the results of the UN Journalism Awards for 2007. In the competition for Best Radio Program, the jury awarded Second Prize to Enise Demirova and her program "Health and Food," broadcast on Radio Cerenja, Macedonia.

The program was produced as part of the project “Healthy People – Healthy Society,” supported by the Roma Media Health Co-production Fund, launched by OSI’s Roma Health Project in co-operation with the OSI Media Program and Medienhilfe. The aim of the Co-production Fund is to strengthen collaboration between Roma and mainstream media in achieving improved coverage of Roma health topics. The co-productions aim to positively impact attitudes towards Roma inclusion and Roma access to health care, and to reinforce the Roma and mainstream media’s role in social inclusion and health.

For further information, please contact Nena Skopljanac (Medienhilfe) at nsk@medienhilfe.ch, or visit the UNDP website for the results of the UN Journalism Awards.
