Call for Scholarship Applications: Conference on the Right to HIV/AIDS Care for Migrants and Ethnic Minorities in Europe

OSI’s Roma Health Project is soliciting applications from Roma activists and civil society members interested in attending the European AIDS Treatment Group conference "The Right to HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support for Migrants and Ethnic Minorities in Europe: The Community Perspective" in Lisbon, Portugal, June 7-8, 2007. Organized by the European AIDS Treatment Group and the Grupo Portugues de Activistas sobre Tratamentos de VIH/SIDA Pedro Santos, the conference will bring together 150 participants including health planners, representatives of ethnic minorities and migrants, activists, and European policymakers. The goal of the conference is to promote universal access to adequate HIV/AIDS care and treatment for migrants and minorities living in Europe. The Roma Health Project will support a session focusing on outreach and HIV/AIDS services to Roma communities.

The project will fund three scholarship positions covering participation costs for Roma individuals. Interested persons should submit applications no later than Monday, April 23, 2007.
