2006 Funds are to increase access of Roma patients to palliative care services in Romania and to facilitate understanding of the importance of palliative care in Roma communities. The hospice center will design and provide training in palliative care and a study visit for Roma health mediators and health care professionals working in 12 Romanian districts inhabited by Roma communities. One male and one female Roma person will be employed and trained as nurses providing home care, and a bed for one week/month will be secured in the hospice institution for a Roma pediatric patient.
