A grant to promote Roma women's health in the Zalau region of Romania. The project includes the following main objectives and activities: combating discrimination against Roma women in health care through perfecting the monitoring mechanism developed in five target communities; documenting cases of discrimination in access to health care, and litigation; creating local action plans based on a Needs Assessment Report, as well as providing technical assistance in identifying sources for financing the action plans; raising awareness among stakeholders about relevant Roma women’s health issues, by organizing local working meetings and regional roundtables; and monitoring the implementation of the Decade of Roma Inclusion Initiative at the regional level, with a focus on health issues.
