Building the Capacity of Roma NGOs Addressing Health Issues|

2008 A grant to foster local implementation of the National Action Plan for Roma Health adopted by the Serbian Government in 2005, under the framework of the Decade of Roma Inclusion. Roma Center for Democracy will work on turning the national level policy on improving access of Roma to health care into practical implementation at local level. The organization will apply several tools toward this end, such as health promotion within Roma communities, advocacy for implementation of the local policy, setting up the instruments for implementation, campaign targeting local health institutions on the health rights of Roma in order to address stereotypes and discrimination of Roma in health care.
