Increasing the Engagement of Roma Communities and Advocates on Public Health Issues Affecting Roma Health

A grant to support prevention and harm reduction activities among the Roma injecting drug users and sex workers in Bucharest, as well as advocacy for increasing Roma access to health services. ARAS will work on awareness-raising on the impact of stigma and discrimination on the life of Roma; in addition, it will establish continuous communication between policy makers and civil society organizations, with particular focus on NGOs working with Roma. To this end, two advocacy meetings will be organized with the participation of policy makers, local authorities, Roma NGO representatives, and the media on improving the level of access to health care services for the Roma population.
