OSI’s Roma Health Project supports organizations and advocates working to ensure that stigmatized Roma communities have access to quality health services. The project works in Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia.

Increasing the Engagement of Roma Communities and Advocates on Public Health Issues Affecting Roma Health
This initiative focuses on building the capacity of individuals and organizations to be effective advocates, as well as working on systemic mechanisms to facilitate increased involvement of Roma activists.

Addressing Direct and Indirect Discrimination in Roma Access to Health Care
This initiative focuses on combating direct and indirect discrimination against Roma in the health care setting with the help of the media, legal aid, and strategic litigation.

Fostering the Availability of Better Data and Evidence Concerning Roma Health
This initiative focuses on encouraging dialogue and research on factors affecting minority and Roma access to health services in the target countries.
