Roma Health Mediation: EuroHealthNet Training
Event Date(s): September 26, 2006 - September 28, 2006

The Roma Health Program is working with EuroHealthNet to train governmental health promotion professionals on designing and implementing programs designed to reduce health disparities between Roma and non-Roma populations. The OSI-sponsored workshop is part of a larger EuroHealthNet event that gathers health policymakers from Central and Eastern Europe for an interactive three-day training. The training gives participants skills on European Union funding mechanisms as well as other general public health issues.

The workshop will focus on lessons learned and best practices for implementing Roma health mediation programs, as well as the necessity of comprehensive, systemic interventions to address entrenched discrimination and health inequalities. EuroHealthNet is a network of health promotion and public health agencies in Europe.
