Documenting Discrimination Against Romani Women in Serbia

In March 2007, the European Roma Rights Centre, in partnership with Serbian NGOs Bibija, Eureka, and Women's Space, submitted a parallel report on discrimination against Romani women in Serbia to the UN Committee on Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). At this OSI Roma Health Project event, three NGO representatives discussed the findings and recommendations of the report, one day before they are scheduled to testify before the CEDAW review of Serbia.
The report highlights violations of Roma women’s rights in education, health care, and employment, as well as incidents of domestic violence and racially motivated abuse.
