Deinstitutionalization and Community Living
Publications and reports related to the deinstitutionalization of people with mental disabilities and the development of community-based alternatives. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities entered into force on May 3, 2008. It marks a major milestone in the effort to promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms of persons with disabilities, and to promote respect for their inherent dignity.  This section includes publications, reports and other news related to the Convention.
