Law and Health Capacity Development: Guidelines
In an effort to cultivate a new generation of professionals committed to health and human rights, the Law and Health Initiative (LAHI) supports university courses in law and health, clinical legal education, continuing education courses for legal and health professionals, and training in health and human rights for staff of the Soros Foundations Network and their grantees and partners.
LAHI welcomes letters of intent from organizations seeking support for projects in one of five focus areas. Please observe the following guidelines. Letters of intent should:
- be no more than two pages
- describe the general purpose of the application, the proposed project, and the organization seeking funds
- disclose any current or previous funding from LAHI or any other OSI or Soros foundation program
- be sent by email (no phone inquiries please) to lawandhealth@sorosny.org.
Letters may be brief and informal.
Geographically, LAHI limits its support to Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, sub-Saharan Africa, and China and Southeast Asia.
Applicants invited to submit a full application or who wish to review LAHI’s application guidelines, please see the application form available for download below.
