Salzburg Seminar: Conducting Health and Human Rights Trainings
| Location: | Salzburg, Austria |
| Event Date: | March 22, 2009 - March 27, 2009 |
The International Federation of Health and Human Rights Organisations (IFHHRO), in close cooperation with OSI’s Law and Health Initiative, held a five-day seminar on strengthening human rights trainings for medical professionals.
Participants at the seminar were experts who conduct health and human rights trainings on behalf of IFHHRO, and came from seven countries: Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. The experts were trained in how they can integrate OSI’s Health and Human Rights Resource Guide into their trainings. The resource guide provides a practical tool for all professionals working at the intersection of health and human rights. It includes fact sheets, program descriptions, jurisprudence, case studies, and glossary definitions on seven priority areas of health and human rights: patient care; HIV/AIDS; harm reduction; palliative care; sexual health; minority health; and mental health. Prepared with leading experts in the field, this guide is designed to support health and human rights advocacy, training, education, programming, and grantmaking worldwide.
