Salzburg Seminar: Palliative Care and Nursing

Location: Salzburg, Austria
Event Date: March 30, 2008 - April 5, 2008

OSI's International Palliative Care Initiative convened its second seminar on Palliative Care and Nursing in Salzburg on March 30-April 5, 2008. The seminar brought together nurses from several countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union to discuss all aspects of palliative care and nursing. The seminar faculty presented several lessons from the End of Life in Nursing Care (ELNEC) curriculum. The ELNEC core curriculum has been developed to prepare qualified nurse educators to provide end-of-life education for nursing students and practicing nurses. The International Palliative Care Initiative is funding an international version of the ELNEC curriculum that is currently under development.
