Eighth European Conference on Drugs and Infections in Prison
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Event Date(s): July 7, 2005 - July 9, 2005

Organized by the European Network on Drugs and Infections Prevention in Prison (ENDIPP), this conference aims to provide delegates the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of effective drug and health-promotion policies and services in prisons throughout Europe.

The conference is supported by the Hungarian Prison Service, with the patronage of the Hungarian Ministry of Justice. Participants will include practitioners, policymakers, prison managers, academics, lawyers, judges, police, NGOs, and representatives of service-user organizations.

The main focus will concern work directly within prisons, however previous events have demonstrated that contributions from those involved in the criminal justice process and health services outside prison walls gives a more balanced perspective in considering prisons as part of the communities they serve. The conference will continue this approach, with the range of contributors reflecting the broadest possible constituency.
