Marine Buissonniere
DirectorMarine Buissonnière is director of the Open Society Public Health Program.
From 2003 to 2007, Buissonnière served as secretary-general of Médecins Sans Frontières International, where she oversaw coordination and cooperation between the 19 sections that make up the MSF movement. In that capacity, she was a member of the steering committee of MSF’s campaign for access to essential medicines. Previously she led operations in Seoul for North and South Korea; served as operations director for MSF in Tokyo; acted as head of mission for Gaza and the West Bank; and was the administrator for MSF in Beijing.
Buissonnière served on the board of MSF from 2007 to 2010. She holds a master's in public policy (international relations) and a health and health policy graduate certificate from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, as well as a diploma (maîtrise) in international management from the MBA Institute in France. She is fluent in English, French, and Mandarin.
