Open Society Fellow Evgeny Morozov scrutinized the impact the Internet has had on governance and free expression, within both authoritarian states and established democracies. Morozov focused on the threats and dangers that the Internet poses to open society and discussed ways in which various authoritarian governments and extremist movements are using the web to their own advantage.
Leonard Benardo, director of the Open Society Fellowship Program, introduced the event.
