About

CEI works on the expansion of the Step by Step Program to be an educational model for Georgia. As an educational model, the Step by Step Program provides training in using democratic teaching strategies to teachers, administrators, parents, higher education faculties, government and community members. Main objectives of the SbS program carried out by CEI are the follwing: increasing the number of schools using Step by Step methodology; establishing model sites; establishing inclusive classrooms; providing parent leadership training; increasing Higher Education involvement They work on classroom based reforms in the framework of the following programs: Infant Toddler Program; Preschool Program; Primary School Program; Higher Education Initiative.

OSI Affiliation

CEI is hosted by the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSFG). CEI carries out the national Step by Step program, which began to operate in Georgia in 1997. SbS Georgia partners with the World Bank Social Investment Fund (SIF).
