About

MIOS was founded by participants of the school development program of the Freudenberg Foundation from Germany and k-education from Austria in co-operation with the Primary School Simin Han. This program trained 12 schools from Tuzla (BiH), Osijek (Hr) and Novi Sad (Sic) in interactive teaching methods, school development and community school approach. As a result and as a wish to go on working further in co-operation the international association «interactive community schools» was founded in December 2003. The Freudenberg Foundation, K – education and the primary school Simin Han are partners of the Open Society Foundation Bosnia – Herzegovina in education reform agenda. The Freudenberg Foundation received funds by OSF BiH and the primary school Simin Han, as one of the applicant partners, is central to the Bosnia Story in our Book on Education Change in SEE).
