About
CDE offers and performs: 1. intellectual services on: consultancy, research, training, information diffusion and collection and publication. 2. on-site consulting, training, planning and conducting research, collecting data, disseminating information, and publishing educational materials. 3. consultancy and training programs in various areas (strategic and program planning; analysis and assessment of education policy; planning and conducting educational studies and surveys; developing critical thinking at the pre-university and university levels; teaching methodology; managing change in education; school improvement, effectiveness and management; publication) CDE delivers training courses for trainers and teachers on RWCT. CDE also delivers courses, workshops, summer schools, round tables, and conferences, as well as consultancies for school related beneficiaries and stakeholders (parents, school administrators, educational leaders, university faculty, and students). They organize literacy development courses for teachers who work with students with learning difficulties or other related problems. They publish up-to-date methodology manuals and books, training modules and guides, resource and promotion materials and books, products of the CDE activities. They develop teaching and educational materials promoting interactive teaching and learning.
OSI Affiliation
CDE began its activity in 1997 with the implementation of the “Developing Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking” (RWCT) Project financed by the Open Society Institute (OSI) – New York. The International Reading Association (IRA) – Washington DC provided technical and content expertise. The RWCT Project was under the umbrella and management of the Albania Education Development Project (AEDP). Since 2001 CDE has operated as an independent non-profit organization (NPO) funded by AEDP and OSI. CDE is Member of the Network of Education Policy Centers facilitated by the Education Support Program, Open Society Institute Budapest. It is also the member of RWCT international Consortium, and the Education Cooperation Network in South East Europe.
