About
SIC develops and implements programs in higher education which 1. correspond to the needs of the community; 2. develop policy dialogue; promote the values of quality, excellence, and the international dimension in education; 3. Introduce innovative practices in higher education. SIC also influences policy making in order to contribute to structural improvements in the Croatian higher education system and advocates in the interests of the Croatian academic community. SIC serves as 1. an information and advising center on higher education opportunities in Croatia and abroad. 2. the U.S. Educational Information Center, approved and supported by the Department of State. The center provides accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. 3. an administration center for the Open Society Institute Scholarship Programs and Central European University Postgraduate Fellowships since 2001 . 4. an Approved Testing Administrator for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)since March 2001.
OSI Affiliation
As a project within the Open Society Institute Croatia the Center existed since 1996. Then the Center was registered as an independent NGO in 1999.
