About
CEI organizes, realizes and supports various educational activities and initiatives based on principles of democratic civil society and recognizing basic rights of all children and families. It also initiates and implements a variety of projects and actively participates in reform processes at all educational levels in order to meet the needs of contemporary education and establish foundations for all children to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for the challenges of the 21st century.
OSI Affiliation
The Center for Educational Initiatives Step by Step (CEI) grew out of the Step by Step Project, which was launched in 1996 supported by Open Society Institute, New York, and Open Society Fund, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In December 1999, the Step by Step Project transformed into an NGO. CEI Step by Step implement several projects in partnership with OSF Bosnia and Herzegovina, OSI NY, International Step by Step Association, UNICEF, CIDA, as well as ministries, communities and schools.
