Call for Proposals: Strengthening the Evidence-Based Practice of Educational Civil Society Organizations

Date:
October 5, 2010

The Education Support Program of the Open Society Foundations seeks to identify interested organizations—educational civil society organizations (CSOs), educational policy centers, and think tanks—to partner in the joint development and field testing of data-gathering strategies for educational CSOs, to maximize the organizational and social value of the data emerging from their daily work.

The core objectives of the initiative are to:

  • advance understanding of the existing opportunity systems, but also barriers, which affect the interest and capacities of CSOs to develop organizational capacities to collect information;
  • develop and test CSO-tailored information-collecting protocols to foster organizational capacities, to better understand the outcomes and impact of their education service interventions on beneficiary groups;
  • raise awareness among key stakeholders on the increasing importance of CSO educational services delivery around the world, and thus the need to foster CSO organizational capacities to systematically collect the information sparking from their work.

Deadline

October 25, 2010
