Education Against Corruption
2004 Organization: Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) International Consortium Countries involved: Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Kosovo, Azerbaijan The aim of the project is to develop in-service teacher training programs on preventing corruption in the education sector and raising public awareness amongst teachers and local communities in seven project partners’ countries. Each participating country will establish a team that consists of stakeholder representatives, who will be trained to develop teacher-training programs and who will further be responsible for implementation of anti-corruption initiatives in their countries. Expected project outcomes include: 1) anticorruption materials developed and collected throughout the project will be available in local languages as well as English and Russian for all RWCT Consortium members in 23 countries as well as other Network representatives and 2) in-country anticorruption initiatives are to be developed, such as a course on anticorruption issues for secondary schools in Ukraine.
