Resourcing Education: Fund for Innovations and Networking (RE:FINE)

Grantee List

Between 2004 and 2006, Resourcing Education: Fund for Innovations and Networking (RE:FINE) supported special education projects to further open society goals in four priority areas: accountability, equity, anticorruption, and the improvement of learning outcomes. RE:FINE provided strategic grants for networking projects in education in South Eastern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia. The fund also supported projects in countries where OSI is developing new partnerships. Currently, there are 18 ongoing projects which finish in 2007 and 2008.

At the end of 2006, ESP elaborated its new mission: to promote justice in education, because every child deserves an equal chance to develop the skills, knowledge, and values needed to live a worthwhile life. Starting from 2007, ESP has realigned its activities to support education provisions for children at risk. In line with this, RE:FINE will not continue in its original form. A new grant fund was created which focuses on education provisions for vulnerable children. The fund allows for collaborative work in the regions on social justice issues, and offers cross-learning opportunities. This new focus responds to the greatest need that is often overlooked by governments and donors.

There will be no further calls for proposals within the framework of the grant fund; ESP is working on regional projects in collaboration with partner NGOs.

For more details on the funded projects, see the RE:FINE grantee list. 2004, 2005, and 2006 project lists are also available for download below.
