Network of Education Policy Centers

Since 2003 the Education Support Program has been mapping and bringing together education policy centers from a wide geographic area. ESP has facilitated the exchange of information and expertise among the centers and helped to lay the foundations for the Network of Education Policy Centers (NEPC) related to OSI.

NEPC was created in transition countries to improve sharing of information, knowledge, and experience as well as exploring and promoting joint initiatives and networking activities. Most centers have established partnerships with key stakeholders in education in their respective countries. Though the centers are diverse in nature, organizational structure, professional background, scope, size, and role in education change, they share strong local knowledge, maintain international contacts, and keep in touch with key international organizations.

The mission of NEPC is to promote flexible, participatory, evidence-based, transparent education policies reflecting open society values, which mean proactive policy initiatives as well as advocacy and monitoring activities of governments and national education systems. NEPC has addressed the need for independent and information-based policy analysis, advocacy for equity, and effective, sustainable solutions in education policy processes in the last couple of years.

There are 22 member institutions in 20 countries. NEPC also has 5 individual members.
