Summary: To conclude a long-term analysis of Ukraine’s relations with an expanded EU, focusing on (i) economic issues including, trade, foreign investment and financial sectors; Ukraine as a transit country from Russia and the Caucasus to the EU; construction of infrastructure connecting Ukraine with the EU; EU engagement in introducing Ukraine to the WTO; (ii) social movement, including freedom of travel, migration and cross-border cooperation; and, (iii) political issues, including the perception of Ukraine as the direct neighbor of the EU, the roles of neighboring countries in forming EU policy to Ukraine, the role of Ukraine in public safety policies of the EU, the EU policy to Russia and EU policy in the Black Sea region.
