Equal Access for Stimulant Users

The purpose of this grant is to influence policy makers that Stimulant Substitution Therapy (SST) should be an option to attract injecting drug users into services. The goals of the project are:

  • To undertake a basic feasibility study to set up a Stimulant Substitute Therapy (SST) programme for methamphetamine users in Northern Thailand
  • To establish a steering group of international experts to oversee the implementation of the project
  • To write and submit an application to NIDA and/or other funding bodies for funding a major trial in the area of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
