Drug Policy in Portugal: The Benefits of Decriminalizing Drug Use

The Global Drug Policy program is holding the press launch of the Portuguese version of the Open Society Foundations report Drug Policy in Portugal: the Benefits of Decriminalizing Drug Use, written by Polish journalist and social researcher Artur Domoslawski.
The report will be presented by Kasia Malinowska-Sempruch, director of the Global Drug Policy program.
João Goulão, President of the Instituto da Droga e da Toxicodependência and Carlos Poiares of Universidade Lusófona, will address the impact of Portugal's innovative drug strategy ten years after its implementation
Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group and member of the Global Commission on Drug Policy, will discuss Portugal’s drug policies in the context of the Commission’s recommendations.
