The Early Childhood Program engages in analysis and policy development to help establish high-quality, affordable education systems and services that respect the rights and needs of communities, children, and parents, particularly disadvantaged children and their families.
Capacity Development
The Early Childhood Program provides technical assistance and support to educate and provide ongoing professional development opportunities for early childhood professionals.
Equity
The Early Childhood Program implements specific initiatives designed to alleviate social disadvantage and improve opportunities for target populations that are central to the Open Society Institute’s mission, including young children with disabilities, children living in poverty with no access to early childhood development services, and children from marginalized groups such as Roma.
Monitoring & Accountability
In order to protect the rights of young children and improve their opportunities for development, the Early Childhood Program engages in partnerships with key stakeholders to pursue advocacy and awareness building activities that elevate early childhood issues on the agendas of international, regional, and national institutions.
