Amnesty International
Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Civil Society International
Civil Society International (CSI) assists independent organizations working for democracy and civil society in countries closed or inhospitable to principles of civil society, namely: limited government, popular elections, the rule of law; free association and expression; regulated, but open and market-oriented economies; aid to the poor, orphaned, elderly, sick, or disabled; and finally, civic cultures that value pluralism and individual liberty but also respect human needs for community and shared visions of the common good.

Comittee to Protect Journalists
The Committee to Protect Journalists is an independent, nonprofit organization, founded in 1981, that promotes press freedom worldwide by defending the right of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal.

Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders/Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) is an independent, private, international medical relief organization aiding victims of armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and others who lack healthcare due to social marginalization.

Global Witness
Global Witness campaigns to achieve real change by challenging established thinking on seemingly intractable global issues. They work to highlight the link between the exploitation of natural resources and human rights abuses, particularly where the resources such as timber, diamonds and oil are used to fund and perpetuate conflict and corruption.

Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch (HRW) is an independent, nongovernmental organization, that defends individuals and organizations against human rights abuses. HRW is supported by contributions from private individuals and foundations worldwide; it accepts no government funds, directly or indirectly.

International Crisis Group
The International Crisis Group (ICG) is an independent, non-profit, multinational organisation, with over 100 staff members on five continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict.

International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights
The International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights is a self-governing group of non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations that act to protect human rights throughout Europe, North America, and Central Asia. A primary goal is to monitor compliance with the human rights provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and its follow-up documents.

International League for Human Rights
The International League for Human Rights works to keep human rights at the forefront of international affairs and to give meaning and effect to the human rights values enshrined in international human rights treaties and conventions. Its special mission is to defend individual human rights advocates who risk their lives to promote the ideals of a just and civil society in their homelands.

Liberty Institute
Liberty Institute is non-profit, non-partisan, liberal public policy advocacy foundation. Through civic campaigns, debates, surveys and educational activities, they work to defend civil liberties, active citizenship, public accountability, rule of law, transparency and free market in public life, politics, legislation and within public agencies.

Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe
OSCE is the largest regional security organization in the world, with 55 participating states from Europe, Central Asia, and North America. It is active in early warning, conflict prevention, crisis management, and post-conflict rehabilitation.

Publish What You Pay
The Publish What You Pay campaign aims to help citizens of resource-rich developing countries hold their governments accountable for the management of revenues from the oil, gas and mining industries. It is a coalition of over 200 NGOs worldwide calls for the mandatory disclosure of the payments made by oil, gas and mining companies’ to all governments for the extraction of natural resources.

U.S. Department of State Human Rights Reports
Each year, the Department of State releases overviews of human rights conditions in every nation in the form of a report to the U.S. Congress. According to the department, "The yearly release of the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices is an occasion to assess the state of human freedom around the world and the challenges faced by those seeking to improve it."
