We Are Not Free—The Future of the Media in Pakistan

Sami Abrahim

Sami Abrahim is the Senior Correspondent and Producer of Geo TV in Washington DC. He has worked as correspondent for most major newspapers of Pakistan, including The Pakistan Times, The Muslim,The Frontier Post and Daily Jang/The News. He is former President of The Pakistan Times employees union, and former Vice President of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of journalists (RIUJ).

Bob Dietz

Bob Dietz is the Asia Program Coordinator for the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). He has worked as a journalist in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States for over three decades. He travels frequently to South Asia and China to monitor press freedom on behalf of CPJ.

Kiran Khalid

Kiran Khalid is an independent broadcast journalist with more than ten years of newsroom experience.  She currently works as a television correspondent, field producer and media consultant for outlets including CNN International and Court TV.  She recently finished We Are Not Free, which is her second documentary film.

Ahmed Rashid

Ahmed Rashid is a Pakistani journalist and commentator based in Lahore.  He has covered Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia for twenty-five years for a range of international publications. His books include Taliban: Militant Islam, Oil and Fundamentalism in Central Asia, and Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia.
