Cornelius Graubner

Program Officer

Cornelius Graubner is responsible for regional program development at the Open Society Foundations Central Eurasia Project.

He is a graduate of Freie Universität Berlin, where he studied political science, and holds a MA with distinction in Russian Studies from the European University in St. Petersburg. Prior to joining the Central Eurasia Project, Graubner was a research associate at the Center for Governance and Empiric Conflict Research at the Freie Universität Berlin and a visiting research fellow at the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC. He spent many months on field research in Central Asia attached to the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. In the late 1990's he served 18 months working with a German humanitarian NGO in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He is fluent in German, English and Russian and has published articles on Central Asian affairs and various other development issues.
