EU Foreign Policy

The EU is an important global actor in terms of foreign, economic, and aid policy, but its impact outside the EU gravity zone is often limited because the EU does not act with a common and consistent foreign policy. OSI-Brussels advocates for a foreign policy driven by open society values. In 2007 OSI advocated for a value-driven EU Central Asia strategy, a common and consistent EU policy towards Russia, and a more effective role of the EU in global governance.
