About

The European Union has enormous potential to promote open societies but its impact is often limited. The Open Society Institute encourages the EU to play a more active role in the world and live up to its values in the relations with third countries as within its own borders. OSI engages with EU institutions and member states to bring in evidence, policy recommendations, and expertise from OSI foundations, programs, and grantees worldwide. The Brussels office has particular expertise on Central Asia, Africa, and South Eastern Europe.
