Protest for the Release of Aung San Suu Kyi

Location: New York City
Event Date: June 17, 2005

On June 17, two days before Aung San Suu Kyi's birthday, activists in one dozen countries from Africa to Europe to Asia will protest at embassies of Burma's military regime to demand her release.

Just as the world rallied around Nelson Mandela when he spent his 70th birthday behind bars as a political prisoner in South Africa, every single person in the world who cares about human rights should take action to support Aung San Suu Kyi on her 60th birthday.
