Film Screening: The Farm—Angola, USA
Location: Baltimore, MD
Event Date(s): June 21, 2007

OSI-Baltimore and the Creative Alliance present a free screening of The Farm: Angola, USA (1998) by Liz Garbus. Garbus (Girlhood) directs her unflinching lens on Louisiana’s infamous Angola prison, aka “The Farm.” Occupying 18,000 acres along the Mississippi, with rural landscapes of breathtaking beauty, Angola is a land of suffering for the 5,000 men who enter its gates as young men, never to leave again. Garbus won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary, was nominated for an Oscar, and has received two Emmys.

Sponsored by OSI-Baltimore, the Views of Justice film series aims to spark dialogue through timely, provocative films with in-depth discussions regarding criminal justice.
