Kiera Edwards

Program Associate - Criminal and Juvenile Justice Program and Education and Youth Development Program

Kiera Edwards is the program associate for the Education and Youth Development Program and the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Program at OSI-Baltimore. She is a graduate from Norfolk State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a concentration in public relations. Edwards was active at her college newspaper, serving as a staff writer and photo editor, the latter of which earned her three awards in photojournalism from Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals, Inc. She was also actively involved with her college’s chapter of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America).

Prior to joining the Open Society Foundations, Edwards worked in Washington, D.C. as a program assistant for Grantmakers In Health, an affinity group that serves as a resource center for foundations that work in the field of health philanthropy. In this capacity, she managed day-to-day activities for the office as well as provided program support for senior associates. She also managed a resource center with over 19,000 grants and initiatives that were shared with grant making foundations around the country. Edwards joined the Foundations after relocating to the Baltimore metro area.
