Rashid Khalidi

One of nation's foremost scholars on the modern history and politics of the Middle East, Khalidi currently holds the Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies at Columbia University.  In the past Khalidi has taught at the Lebanese University, the American University of Beirut, Georgetown, and the University of Chicago.  He has written numerous scholarly articles, as well as op-eds in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Nation.  Khalidi has appeared on radio and television programs such as The Newshour with Jim Lehrer,  All Things Considered, and the BBC.  His recent books include Resurrecting Empire: Western Footprints and America's Perilous Path in the Middle East, and Palestinian Identity: The Construction of Modern National Consciousness.
