Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation–Tajikistan

Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation–Tajikistan (OSIAF-Tajikistan) organizes international, regional, and national activities on regional cooperation, legal and electoral reform, women’s and human rights, immigration, education, health care, access to information, and economic development.

OSIAF–Tajikistan has supported activities to reform the penitentiary system and to further a moratorium on the death penalty; initiated efforts to defend the rights of Tajik workers in neighboring countries; documented and analyzed human rights violations; initiated an anticorruption campaign; conducted regional trainings on violence against women; called for further democratization of the learning process and reconsideration of existing education financing, training, and programs; worked to establish needle exchange projects; and fostered independent media.
