The Soros Foundation–Hungary (SFH) has focused on the following priority areas in its work in Hungary: education, culture and arts, health preservation, law and justice, information, and creating sustainable nongovernmental organizations.
The foundation has developed and supported programs aimed at strengthening political participation; developing educational materials about corruption; assisting marginalized groups such as the Roma, the poor and invalid, refugees, prisoners, and pensioners; and helping bring discrimination test cases to trial. The foundation has also worked to maintain strong connections with European Union representative offices and helped NGOs prepare for working with the EU.
