The Open Estonia Foundation (OEF) works towards developing an open society and strengthening citizen participation in local and national governance. Improving citizens’ understanding of the European Union (EU) and what EU membership means for Estonians has also been a significant priority for the Foundation.
OEF’s EU-related activities have included: providing the public with information about the EU, helping civil society acquire the knowledge and skills to become successful managers of EU funds and participants in EU decision making, and hosting public debates that focus on issues such as national identity, Estonia’s constitution in the context of the EU, and the future of the European Union itself.
